Nearly 80% of men and 50% of women experience some form of hair loss in their lifetime. I am one of the 80%... and I have gone through a long journey to hair acceptance. It's time for me to share with you what I have learned!
I know what it is like to struggle with losing your hair: it feels like you are losing a part of yourself, part of your identity. My hair began thinning in my early 20's and so I embarked on an intense search for the "silver bullet" to bring back my hair confidence. Who wants to lose their hair? Definitely not me!
I tried everything. This included medication, supplements, hair treatments, scalp make-up, and two surgeries. Ultimately, I was left quite a bit poorer and most importantly, I wasn't any more confident. This lack of confidence continued to seep into everything I did but thankfully I figured out how to "get by" with what I had. Many of my clients were unaware of how thin my hair actually was; I became really good at using the "smoke and mirrors" that styling and products can provide.
Fast forward a few years, I got lost on social media and had come across non-surgical hair replacement. I began to dig deeper and found a number of companies that were providing this new and non-invasive product.
In the midst of my research, Hairskeen, a company based in France, consistently fascinated me. I cannot begin to describe to you the confidence boost that I experienced when I saw myself for the first time. I thought I might look like a completely different person; in reality, I feel that I am a more complete picture of myself now. My hair looks like it was supposed to look all along!
